Then I had a baby. I was in labor for three days. And afterward, I decided to treat myself. So with designer Beth Bugdaycay’s help, I created a necklace that felt incredibly special, that would always remind me of my daughter and that I would wear and treasure every day. I layered an “A” charm (for my daughter, Ada) over the karma charm (which is not necessarily something I believe in, I just happened to like the symbol) in a deep blue enamel. I do indeed wear it every day—it’s nice to wear something every day that reminds you of the people you love most.
